I’m as exhausted as this puppy is (or more so). BUT I HAVE FINISHED illustrating my first picture book!!

It’s always tiring when reaching the end of a project. But looking back on this one, I know I’ve learned a lot. Spent hours flipping through picture books from the library, observing more closely how illustrators utilize their space, create motion in a still image, and craft an environment for the story. Had to remember to leave room for WORDS in the middle of the pictures (so different from animation), and I think if I do another book, I’ll try the portrait layout instead of landscape (it took me a while to see the advantage of that one). And of course, if I learned anything, I got a handle on dog drawing. Just barely.
